Metta Forest Monastery (Wat Mettavanaram) is a Thai forest tradition monastery in Valley Center, California. Founded in 1990 by Thanissaro Bhikkhu, it operates on the monastic model of dana (generosity). Thanissaro Bhikkhu is one of the most prolific translators of the Pali Canon and author of numerous books on Buddhist practice. The monastery offers group meditation and dhamma talks.
