Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, is a private university founded in 1974 by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. It is the only accredited Buddhist-inspired university in North America. Naropa offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in contemplative education, psychology, environmental studies, religious studies, and the arts. The university integrates contemplative practice with academic study and was named after the 11th-century Indian Buddhist sage Naropa.
