Rochester Zen Center in Rochester, New York, was founded in 1966 by Roshi Philip Kapleau, author of 'The Three Pillars of Zen,' one of the most influential English-language books on Zen practice. The center offers daily zazen, sesshins (intensive retreats), and residential training. It has been a major training center for American Zen for over five decades.
