Zen Peacemakers is an international order of socially engaged Buddhists founded by Bernie Glassman and Sandra Jishu Holmes. The order is grounded in three tenets: not knowing, bearing witness, and taking action. Zen Peacemakers is known for its bearing witness retreats at Auschwitz-Birkenau and street retreats with the homeless. The organization promotes social action as a form of Zen practice.
