About
Tirumalai Krishnamacharya is widely regarded as the father of modern yoga. A scholar of Sanskrit, Ayurveda, and multiple philosophical systems, he developed the vinyasa method of linking breath to movement that transformed yoga worldwide. His students — including BKS Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois, and TKV Desikachar — went on to found the major schools of modern postural yoga, though Krishnamacharya himself always emphasized yoga as a complete contemplative discipline.
