Ilie Cioara (1916–2004) was a Romanian mystic and author who experienced a spontaneous awakening and spent the remainder of his life exploring and writing about non-dual awareness. Working independently of any established tradition, he developed a practice of 'lucid attention' — meeting each moment with total, thought-free presence. His books, including 'The Silence of the Mind,' were published late in his life and have found a growing international audience.
